Refinishing and Resurfacing Hardwood Floors

Did you know that engineered wood floors can also be restored?

Read on to learn all about refinishing and resurfacing hardwood and engineered wood floors.

Hardwood floor refinishing is the process of sanding down the existing hardwood floor to remove the top layer of the finish and expose the raw wood beneath. Most scratches, dents, water stains, and imperfections can be smoothed out and removed during a full sand and recoat process. Depending on the type of hardwood, some can even be color corrected for a fresh new look.

While hardwood floor refinishing can be an extensive process, hardwood resurfacing requires fewer repairs to the hardwood making it the more cost and time efficient option.

Not all floors can be resurfaced though, as this process is only for floors in good condition, with only minor scratches or wear. Resurfacing is a good option for low traffic areas or for people who simply want a fresh new look.

How do you know if your floors should be refinished?

Water Damage
